Stratcast Live From The Barton Riverside Revelry

Reporter - Wayne Bartlett

Stratcast spent the day at Barton Riverside Revelry, enjoying the glorious sunshine combined with traditional fete antics so that money could be raised for good causes. The lucky charities to benefit from this fun-filled day were Help For Heroes, Air Ambulance, and Acorn's Hospice.

We did a live broadcast of the day, highlighting all the activities mixed with music, interviews and witty banter.

Wayne was the roving reporting providing commentaries on the dog shows, tug o' war, an jazz band amongst others. From cake stalls, tombolas, pork baps, to bars, there were plenty of stalls helping to raise money for charity. The event was well attended and the crowd were well involved with the whole community spirit aspect.

There were many highlights of the day. Personal favourites include the tug o' war commentary, the waggiest dog tale, and Stratcast's newest recruit Nicole being found in Bidford's fire appliance. Stratcast Lunch's very own James Blackburn held the reins of the event, creating one of our best shows to date. With thanks to our resident crew members Sam, Alex and Matt who also enjoyed the day. We look forward to next year; the organisers have been so hospitable and friendly, so we hope to help them raise even more money. However, more importantly it will be James' turn in the stocks.
